Outreach Activities
At Saahas for Animals, we believe that real change begins with awareness. Our outreach initiatives focus on building empathy and practical understanding of animal care among school children, college students, and corporate teams. Over the years, we’ve partnered with multiple schools, colleges, and companies to create meaningful, hands-on experiences that shape more compassionate communities.
School Programs
We regularly conduct awareness sessions in schools to teach children how to safely and kindly interact with animals. These sessions cover basic first aid, understanding animal behavior, responsible feeding practices, and how to reach out for help when an animal is in need.
Our recent collaboration with iTeach spanned nine government schools across Pune, reaching hundreds of students. We’ve also conducted sessions at Indus International School, Sanskriti School, and with organizations like Responsible Charity, with more schools joining in. These programs are designed to make learning interactive and actionable often ending with hands-on feeding drives where children put their learnings into practice.
College Engagement
Many colleges encourage their students to complete mandatory community outreach hours and
Saahas is proud to be one of their preferred partners. Students from Symbiosis College of Economics, Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts, PCCOE, Balaji Institute, Indira College, and others regularly volunteer at our shelter. They work directly with animals, support feeding drives, and gain practical exposure to animal welfare work.
Corporate Volunteering
We also welcome companies that want to engage their teams in meaningful on-ground work. Organizations like Northern Trust, Coupa, Worbay, and Orange Pet Nutrition have visited our shelter to volunteer, learn more about animal welfare, and contribute to our initiatives. Many of these partnerships have also led to donation drives and CSR collaborations, creating a deeper impact.
